How to restart macOS Audio services
Published 2022-8-08For the times you know you should be able to
- switch between internal and USB Mic
- or between Built-in Speakers and Headphones
- or change the input or output volume
...but you can't.
Kill CoreAudio!
sudo killall -SIGTERM coreaudiod
Or, if that doesn't work... SIGKILL!
sudo killall -SIGKILL coreaudiod
Also available via Activity Monitor.app, just search coreaudio!
